Label Me Chalk Paint Mug

Coffee or hot tea is a regular morning ritual for me and my boyfriend. It is one of our favorite ways to start off the day! Inspired by my huge chalkboard painted on the wall of my kitchen, I thought why not make cute chalk paint labels on a set of coffee mugs!? Thus began the start of labeled coffee mugs and cute morning chalk notes. Best of all, they are dishwasher safe!

Cost: $8.00
*This includes 2 Dollar Store mugs and paint

Materials:

  • Chalkboard paint
  • Coffee mug (ceramic or glass is fine)
  • Stencil – optional
  • Chalk

Tools:

  • Paintbrush
  • Oven

Make sure coffee mugs are clean. Once clean, use your stencil or free hand your design with the chalkboard paint directly onto your mug. Paint 2 – 3 coats. Let dry completely for 24 hours.

Preheat oven to 325º. Bake for 40 minutes or as directed on chalk paint bottle. This will make the chalk paint dishwasher and microwave safe!

Finally prep your chalkboard paint for the chalk by rubbing a layer of chalk completely over the surface area of your chalkboard paint. Wipe clean and write/draw whatever you like!

Fill with java or whatever your heart desires! Cheers!
